Lynn Christensen was a five-sport star at Dixie College, lettering in football, basketball, baseball, track and tennis in his two years in St. George. He was an all-ICAC selection at running back and was part of the 1963 perfect season led by legendary head football coach and DSU Hall of Famer Sark Arslanian.
The following season, Christensen earned the 1964 Las Vegas Bowl “Outstanding Back” award and helped lead Dixie to an ICAC men’s tennis title on his way to being named the 1965 Dixie College Athlete of the Year.
Christensen, who also played football under Arslanian at Weber State, then went on to become a successful high school basketball coach for over three decades in Washington County. He led Hurricane HS to a state title and guided Pine View HS to eight region championships and numerous state playoff appearances.
In addition, Christensen was presented with the Utah Sports Hall of Fame Foundation’s “Distinguished Coach” Award in 2012, and was inducted into the Utah Softball Hall of Fame in 2013.
