Drew McLaughlin was a four-year starter, primarily at second base, and saw his name near the top of the line-up card during his storied career in a Trailblazer uniform.
He was also a four-time All-Pacific West Conference honoree with three first-team nods, and a two-time NCBWA and ABCA first team all-West Region selection. Â
McLaughlin helped lead the Trailblazers to a 147-64-1 overall record during his four seasons and was part of two PacWest championship winning teams (2014 and 2015), and four-straight NCAA West Regional appearances.Â
McLaughlin remains one of three players in the program’s NCAA era to bat over .400 in a season, doing so in the 2016 campaign with a .408 average on his way to breaking the single-season hits record (91).Â
McLaughlin closed his four-year career as the program’s all-time hits leader (291) and is currently ranked first all-time in program history in runs (185), starts (200), and at-bats (808).Â
Additionally, McLaughlin is currently second all-time in career doubles (tied with 46), total bases (371) and games played (204), third in stolen bases (32), fourth in batting average (.360), t-sixth in triples (5) and 10th in RBI (110).Â
McLaughlin graduated from Dixie State in 2017 with his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He met and fell in love with his beautiful wife, Macie, during his senior year. The couple got married and started their family in St. George, where they welcomed their first daughter, Tallie (6).Â
In 2020, Drew and his family returned to his native Arizona and settled down in Queen Creek, where last year he and his wife added their son Brady (1) to the mix.
He is currently a memeber of the corporate sales team at DoorDash in Phoenix. When not working, his time is spent with his family, and instead of living at the ball fields and working out with teammates, Drew and his family lives at daughter Tallie’s dance studio, while his son Brady is his gym partner.
