GENERAL TRYOUT INFORMATION:

  • Friday April 17, 2026 @ 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday April 18, 2025 @ 10:00 a.m. 
  • Burns Arena (Please Enter Through East Side Doors)

WHAT TO BRING: 

  • Current Transcript
  • Physical Copy of Application & Agreement Forms (Filled Out)
  • Current headshot (we'd like a headshot of how you would look at tryouts)
TRYOUT REQUIREMENTS:
  • The Utah Tech Cheer and Stunt team currently has positions for both Co-Ed & All Girl/POD Stunting.

Females:

  • Tumbling: Standing Back Tuck, Running RoundOff Back Handspring Layout- fulls are encouraged
  • Coed Flying: Hands-Stretch-Full Down (minimum Requirement). 
  • Pod Stunting: Full up-Stretch-full down (minimum Requirement). 
  • Girls will also be judged on dance, jumps, & overall showmanship.

Males:

  • Tumbling: Standing Back Tuck recommended but not required
  • Stunting: Hands-Stretch-Full down.  
  • Men will also be judged on overall showmanship. 

ATTIRE:

  • Females must wear fitted clothing (shorts/skirts are recommended & no patterns) and be Game Day Ready! (We recommend UT colors)
  • Males must wear athletic wear and tennis shoes. (We recommend UT colors)

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must maintain a 2.5 GPA
  • Must be enrolled full time at Utah Tech University (12 credits per semester)
  • We will not be accepting video tryouts for the 2026-27 tryouts.

OTHER INFORMATION REGARDING THE UTAH TECH CHEER SQUAD:

  • There will be a first cut on Friday, April 17.
  • There will be a mandatory video call interview with the finalists on April 19-20.
  • Tryouts are closed to everyone except the participants, judges, and those helping with tryouts.
  • There will be no spotting allowed on skills. 
  • If an applicant is selected for the team, team placement will be made initially. However, this placement is not permanent. Team members must keep their skills at the level of their team.
  • If selected to be a member of the Utah Tech University Cheer team, you are required to have a personal health insurance plan. 
  • Utah Tech University and all tryout personnel will not be held responsible or liable for any injuries that may occur during these tryouts.
