Dixie State came away with a 12th-place finish at the Southern Utah Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational played this weekend at Sunbrook Golf Course.
The Trailblazers (322-317-307-949; +85) found themselves in 11
th place after both the first and second rounds, and despite posting their lowest round of the event on Saturday with a 26-over 310, they unfortunately fell one spot down on the team leaderboard.
Arkansas State (302-295-292-889, +25) slipped past Seattle U (299-297-294-890; +26) by one shot to win the team title, while Oral Roberts (313-297-294-904; +40) took third.
Junior
Abby Livingston (79-77-74) was Dixie State's top finisher as she joined three players tied for 23
rd at plus-14 230. Livingston carded the Blazers' low round of the event with a 2-over 74 on her final loop on Saturday, and wound up with a team-high seven birdies overall.
Sophomore
Abbey Porter (75-81-76) tied with two others for 30
th at plus-16 232, which featured an opening 3-over 75, and she rolled in six birdies on the weekend.
Sophomore
Kaitlin Tsukamoto (87-78-79-244) finished tied for 73
rd at plus-28 244, followed by junior
Tayllore Ward (93-79-81) in t-94
th at plus-37 253, and
Madison Moss (83-89-82) placed solo 96
th at plus-38 254. In addition, sophomore
Taylor Naumann (86-81-76), playing as an individual, wound up tied for 68
th at plus-27 243.
Dixie State heads back to Arizona as part of the field at the Northern Arizona Red Rock Invitational, which will be played March 19-20, at the Oakcreek Country Club in Sedona.
