Utah Tech will close out the 2025-26 regular season with an appearance at the Montana State Bobcat Desert Classic. The 54-hole event will be played this upcoming Monday-through-Wednesday at the par-72, 6,218-yard Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Ariz.

The 13-team field includes the Trailblazers and host Bobcats, along with fellow WAC members California Baptist and Utah Valley. In addition, future Big Sky Conference foes Weber State, Eastern Washington, Idaho, Idaho State, Montana, and Portland State, as well as North Dakota State, Seattle U and Wyoming round out the field.

The five player lineup for the Trailblazers will feature senior Jane Olson, juniors Mia Cesarek and Samantha Phelan, sophomore Maria Purroy Galan, and redshirt freshman Gabrielle Roznicki. In addition, freshman Coryn Tardif will compete as an individual.

GOING "BIG" IN 2026: This past June 25, Utah Tech announced that it had accepted an invitation to join the Big Sky Conference beginning on July 1, 2026.
Starting in the 2026-27 season, 14 of the Trailblazers' 17 sports, including women's golf, will compete under the Big Sky Conference banner.

HEAD COACH LINDSEY ORTH: Lindsey Orth (Utah Tech, 2007) is in her 10th season as head coach of the Trailblazer women's golf program.
Last season, Coach Orth finished its fifth season of NCAA Division I play with four top-5 showings in nine team events, highlighted by a t-second place finish at the Utah Valley Wigwam Preview in February (2/2-4/25), and a seventh-place showing at the 2025 WAC Championships.
Prior to her arrival at Utah Tech, she served as assistant golf professional at the Sand Hollow Golf Resort, and as an LPGA assistant teaching professional for the City of St. George. Orth also spent two seasons on the coaching staff of the Hurricane High School girl's golf program, including a one-year stint as the Tigers' head coach in the 2010-11 season.
Coach Orth, who is an apprentice member of the LPGA T&CP, played collegiately at the University of Central Arkansas, where she helped lead the Bears to six-consecutive team tournament wins and a Gulf South Conference championship.

LAST TIME OUT: Utah Tech posted an 11th-place finish at the Minnesota Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate, which was played this past March 23-24, at the Wigwam Resort Blue Course in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
After opening with an 8-over par 292, Utah Tech struggled in round two as the Blazers combined to shoot a 17-over 301, which dropped the team one spot from 10th place to 11th at plus-25 593.
Utah Tech came back with a final round seven-over 291, but could not make up any ground on the field, and wound up with a three-round total of plus-32 884.
Bolstered by a final round and collegiate career-low 3-under 68, Purroy Galan (70-77-68) was Utah Tech's top finisher as she tied for 25th at plus-2 215. The sophomore carded a team-best two eagles and one birdie on her final loop, which helped her vault up 14 spots on the leaderboard, and she tallied five total birdies overall.
Meanwhile Cesarek (73-72-77) finished in a two-way tie for 47th at plus-9 222, followed by a trio of Trailblazers tied for 58th-overall.
Phelan and Olson fired matching scores of 75-76-75 over the three rounds, while Roznicki bounced back from a 3-over 74 and an 8-over 79, with a 2-over 73 to join her teammates at plus-13 226.

TRAILBLAZERS AT A GLANCE: Through eight events this season, Purroy Galan leads the team in stroke average at 74.45 through 22 rounds with a team-best eight par or better rounds and one top-10.
Phelan is tied for second at 75.17 with five par or better rounds and a team-high three top-10s, while Cesarek joins her teammate in second at 75.17 with four par or better rounds.
Roznicki follows in fifth at 77.12 with a pair of par or better rounds, and Olson is sixth at 77.20 through 20 competitive loops.

NEXT UP FOR THE TRAILBLAZERS: Utah Tech will vie for its first D-I conference title as the Trailblazers travel to "The Lone Star State" for the 2026, and final, Western Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championships. The three-day, 54-hole championship tournament will be held April 20-22, at The Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch in McKinney, Texas.
