Dixie State women's golf opened the 2021-22 season with an 11
th-place finish at the Utah Valley Hobble Creek Classic on Tuesday at Hobble Creek Golf Course in Springville.
After posting opening rounds of plus-26 310 and plus-27 311 over their first two loops on Monday, the Trailblazers combined to fire a final round plus-19 303. Gonzaga (291-294-286) led wire-to-wire to take home the team title with a three-round total of plus-19 871, with both Weber State (295-298-290-883; +31) and Cal Poly (300-290-293-883; +31) claiming runner-up honors.
Junior
Abby Livingston and sophomore
Abbey Porter paced the Blazers as the duo tied for 33
rd-overall individually at plus-15 228. Livingston carded three consecutive 5-over 76s rounds over her tournament play with six total birdies, while Porter posted rounds of 75 (+4), 77 (+6) and 76 with five combined birdies.
Sophomore
Tannica Porter joined six other golfers tied for 38
th at plus-17 230 after she followed back-to-back 8-over 79s on Monday with DSU's low round of the event with a 1-over 72 on Tuesday, which vaulted her 26 spots up the player leaderboard.
Tannica Porter rolled in two birdies (five total over three rounds) and penciled in 13 pars on her final loop.
Meanwhile, fellow sophomores
Tayllore Ward (80-79-79-238; +25) and
Grace Williams (82-79-80-241; +28) finished in t-72
nd and t-80
th, respectively, to round out DSU's scoring. In addition, sophomore
Kaitlin Tsukamoto (72-76-86-234; +21), who also fired a 1-over 72 in Monday's opening round, finished t-59
th as an individual, and junior
Madison Moss (79-77-81-237; +24) tied for 67
th playing as an individual.

Dixie State will return to northern Utah to play at the Weber State Fall Invitational, which will be held next Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 20-21, at the Wolf Creek Resort in Eden.
