(La Verne, CA - April 18, 2026) - Utah Tech track & field racked up 23 top-5 finishes, 15 top-3 finishes, won three events, and broke three school records between the Bryan Clay Invitational and the ULV Leopard Invitational this weekend in southern California.
Utah Tech sent 7 athletes to compete at the Bryan Clay Invitational and 36 total competed in the ULV Leopard Invitational.
ULV Leopard Invitational
The Trailblazers got started in La Verne on Thursday, Apr. 16 with the field events where
Lainee Leavitt placed 2nd with a mark of 1.65m, just shy of her personal best. Mille Rosaeg also competed and placed 5th with a 1.55m mark.
At the long jump, Utah Tech had another strong showing, this time at the long jump where
Mackenzie Bradach and
Reyes Hernandez finished 3rd and 4th respectively. Bradach finished with a 5.40m measuring and Hernandez had a 5.32m measure.
UT got started with the track events at the 800 race where
Whitney Christiansen placed second with a time of 2:11.91.
Savannah Rydalch and
Makayla Pitcher also logged top-8 finishes, coming in 7th and 8th.
At the men's side of the 800m, Mordechai Yadegar crossed the finish line with a time of 1:55.10 which is a Utah Tech record. Yadegar's time placed him 7th in the meet, and Aiden Hardy came in right behind him in 8th with a time of 1:55.77.
To wrap up day one of the meet, the Trailblazers had strong representation at the podium once again, this time at the 10000m run as
Erin McKinnon and
Kambrie Wilkinson placed 2nd and 3rd. Mckinnon finished with a time of 37:19.99 and Wilkinson finished at 37:39.70.
To kick off day two, Utah Tech had a pair of 2nd place finishes on the track. The first was at the 4x100 relay where
Hannah Bingham,
Lily Sampson,
Samiyah Jones, and
Kooper Dennison teamed up for a time of 47.13. Following that event,
Megan Jenkins kept the 2nd place theme going with a time of 14.00 at the 100m hurdles.
Utah Tech was busy at the podium once again at the 100m dash as
Lily Sampson,
Hannah Bingham, and
Kooper Dennison placed back-to-back-to-back at 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
At the 400m hurdles,
Megan Jenkins won the event with a time of 59.47, which was just shy of her personal best and school record.
Ilenia DeHart also had a good time of 1:02.42, which placed her 3rd best at the meet.
To wrap up the meet, UT finished strong with a pair of 1st place finishes. The first came at the 4x400 relay as

Ilenia DeHart,
Gracie Meeds, and
Scarlett Brock teamed up for a program record with a time of 3:49.08. Immediately following at the 5000m run,
Averie Perriton continued her strong meet by taking the win with a time of 17:04.66.

Averie Perriton broke the Utah Tech 3000m steeplechase record with a time of 10:29.62.
