Box Score (St. George, UT - Mar. 5, 2026) – Utah Tech women's tennis drops the first match of the homestand, 4-2 to the New Mexico State Aggies Thursday morning.

The Aggies (3-6, 0-0 CUSA) came out swinging in the doubles matches, winning each set by a score of 6-2. Montana Parkinson-Lubold and Anna Klimova improved their undefeated doubles record to 4-0 in the 2026 campaign.

UT (5-8, 0-0 WAC) regained some momentum with strong showings in the start of singles play by Mariana Zurita Berdecio and Nutsa Tsintsadze. Mariana won set one at Singles No. 1 handily, 6-1, and then battled out a close tiebreaker, 7-5, to take the second set and win the point for Utah Tech. After falling behind 1-0 after the first set at Singles No. 4, Nutsa stormed back to win set two, 6-1, and then earned a 6-4 victory to complete the comeback in the decisive third set.

At Singles No. 3, Maya Inouye was in an even 1-1 battle, but the overall match was decided before a third set could take place and it went unfinished.

Ultimately, NM State was too much for the Trailblazers, taking the three required points in singles matches to clinch the overall match victory.
