(Arlington, Texas - May 16, 2025) - Utah Tech track & field scored nine points and qualified three Trailblazers to finals on the second day of the 2025 Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at Maverick Stadium. Following Friday's events, Utah Tech sits in seventh with nine points as a team.
UT opened Friday's action on the track. Junior
Ashlyn Parish secured a spot in the 100-meter hurdles final by taking sixth in the prelims at 13.90.
Senior
Lexi Larsen clinched a second finals bid after finishing eighth in the prelims of the 800 meters with a time of 2:13.36. Larsen also has a berth in the 1,500 meters final tomorrow.
After a four-hour weather delay, the Trailblazers picked up where they left off as sophomore
Whitney Christiansen qualified for the finals of the 400 meters with an eighth-place finish at 56.65 in the prelims.
In the final event of the night, Utah Tech scored its first team points of the championships with two top-eight finishes in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Sophomore
Averie Perriton placed fourth at 11:12.67 to score five points, and senior
Kinley Spaulding set a personal best in fifth at 11:15.75 to tally four points.
