Box Score Dixie State women's tennis continued to improve in their final match of the 2022 season in a 3-4 loss against Chicago State. 

Head coach Eric Pelton said, "It was a very good match. The team came out strong today in the doubles picking up the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Rachel Mellor continued her strong play picking up another singles win at #4 singles. Longson also played very well in her singles to get the win at No. 5. The match came down to the No. 1 singles and Alex Hildreth played hard but came up just short in the 3rd set."

In doubles play, the Trailblazers played a tough match. After the No. 3 doubles finished first and the Blazers fell 6-2, the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles pairs came back to win. Hildreth and Ya-Chi Hsu brought it back level, winning their match 6-3. Juliana Honczaruk and Rachel Mellor won the final match of the day with a close 6-4 win to earn the doubles point.

The Trailblazers were able to get two more points in singles play, earning their best result of conference play. 

Rachel Mellor won her 6th of her last 8 singles matches in the No. 4 spot. She won her match in two sets with set scores of 6-4 and 6-1. 

Sabrina Longson got her third singles win of the season in the No. 5 spot. She won her match in two sets as well with two 6-3 scores.

The Trailblazers finished the season with a 2-17 record in their second year as a Division I program competing in the Western Athletic Conference. The Blazers were 0-4 in conference play.
