Trailblazer tennis makes progress in loss against Seattle

Box Score Dixie State women's tennis found their best result of conference play in a 5-2 loss to Seattle U. 

Doubles play got off to a bit of a slow start for the Trailblazers. The Blazers were able to take the No. 1 and No. 2 spots to 6-3 losses but didn't find a win in doubles play. 

Singles play found some success for the Trailblazers. 

Rachel Mellor earned a win in the No. 4 spot, winning her match in two sets. Mellor took 6-3 and 6-2 wins against the Redhawks. This is Mellor's fifth singles win in her last seven matches. 

Angelina Amelkina played in the No. 6 spot earning her first win as a Trailblazer. She took 7-6 and 6-1 wins to win her match in two sets. 

Sabrina Longson and Juliana Honczaruk played close sets but were unable to get any more wins for the Trailblazers. 

The Trailblazers will play their final match of the 2022 season on Friday, April 15 at 11 a.m. (MT) against Chicago State.
