Dixie State came away with a 20th-place showing at the Grand Canyon Spring Invitational, which was played on Monday and Tuesday at the GCU Golf Course in Phoenix.

Junior Abby Livingston (75-77-76) and sophomore Tayllore Ward (82-75-71) led the Trailblazers' effort as the duo wound up in a nine-way tie for 46th at plus-12 228. Livingston opened the event with five birdies on her way to a 3-over 75, and finished with a team-high seven birdies overall.

Meanwhile Ward rebounded from an opening 10-over 82 with a 75 of her own in round two in a loop that featured two birdies and DSU's lone team eagle for the event. The sophomore then followed that up with her first collegiate under par round, a 1-under 71 that included three birdies and 13 pars, which helped her vault 31 spots up the leaderboard.

Sophomore Grace Williams (82-82-89-253; +37) followed in 102nd place and junior Megan Gaskill (84-81-93-258; +42) finished 103rd.

Dixie State will stay close to home as the Trailblazers will tee it up at the Southern Utah/Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invite, which will be played at Sunbrook Golf Course in St. George on March 10-12.
