Trailblazer tennis stopped by BYU

Box Score Dixie State women's tennis lost their match at BYU 0-7 Saturday morning.

Head coach Eric Pelton said, "It was a good match, the girls played well and competed hard! I was impressed with their attitude and effort today!  They had a lot of close games and opportunities we just couldn't capitalize on!"

BYU started the match off by sweeping the three doubles spots to take a 1-0 lead.

Dixie State had some solid individual performances in singles play. Alysha Damron forced Kara Lin to take set 1 to 7-5, but dropped set two 6-0 and took the match loss.

Sabrina Longson also showed strong against Madison Smith. Longson was stopped in set 1 6-0 but held strong in set 2 taking it all the way to 6-4 before ultimately losing the match.

The Blazers adjusted well to their match cancellation the night before and competed well against the Cougars.

Dixie State is now 0-5 in the 2022 season. The Blazers will face their next competition on Friday, February 11th against Utah State for their home opener. The Blazers will then head back out on the road for a weekend of matches at UNLV against UNLV, North Dakota and Montana.
