Box Score The Trailblazer women's tennis team bounced back from Saturday's 7-0 sweep with a 7-0 sweep of their own, defeating College of Idaho on Sunday in Pocatello, Idaho.
Dixie State (1-8) started the day off by sweeping the doubles portion of the match.
Kyra Harames and
Juliana Honczaruk posted a 6-3 victory at No. 3 doubles, shortly after their finish
Emma Templeman and
Rachel Mellor won their match at the No. 1 spot 6-1, earning the doubles point.
Sabrina Longson and
Alexandra Hildreth then clinched the doubles sweep by winning their match in the No. 2 spot, 6-3.
The Trailblazers continued to cruise heading into singles play conceding only 10 total points. Harames set the tone, sweeping both of her sets in the No. 1 spot. Templeman finished her match in the No. 4 spot shortly after, winning the first set by a score of 6-1, and the second 6-0. Hildreth and
Ya-Chi Hsu then both won their matches in the No. 2 and No 3 spots to clinch the win for Dixie State. Longson and Honczaruk finished the weekend off strong for the Blazers, with Longson sweeping the No. 5 spot and Honczaruk giving up only one point in the No. 6 spot.
The Trailblazers will look to build on this win heading into Western Athletic Conference play two weeks from now. DSU will take on Grand Canyon on Friday, March 19 and Seattle University on Sunday, March 21. Both matches will be played at the Trailblazer Tennis Courts in St. George.
