Box Score 2 The Dixie State women's tennis team dropped both of their matches to BYU on Saturday, falling 7-0 twice in Provo.

BYU began the day by sweeping the three doubles matches in first match. The Cougars then started singles play by claiming wins in the No. 1 through No. 4 spots. Later in singles action in the No. 5 spot,
Rachel Mellor fought hard but dropped a 3-6 decision in the first set followed by a loss in the second set, 1-6. To end singles play,
Juliana Honczaruk in the No. 6 spot played to a tough 3-6 loss in the first set before dropping her second set to close out the first match for the Trailblazers.

In the second match, Dixie State dropped the doubles point as the Cougars moved into singles play with the point advantage.
Rachel Mellor and
Emma Templeman came closest to a point in doubles play, dropping a 3-6 decision in the No. 1 spot.

In singles play, the Cougars started right where they left off, claiming wins in the No. 1 through No. 5 spots. The highlight of singles action came in the No. 6 spot as DSU's freshman
Alysha Damron played both of her sets to close 3-6 losses. This closed out the day and the Trailblazer's three match road trip.

Dixie State is 0-5 to start the 2021 season. The Trailblazers will be back in action and on the road, Feb. 4 through Feb. 6 in Tucson, Arizona. The Trailblazers will face off against the university of Arizona on Feb. 4 and Feb. 6, and Gonzaga University on Feb. 5 and Feb. 6. DSU's first home match will be Feb. 17 against Weber State.
