Women's Tennis plays to split on final day in Colorado

Trailblazers go 2-2 on opening weekend in Pueblo

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Dixie State women's tennis team closed its trip to Pueblo, Colorado, on Saturday with a split of two matches to bring its weekend record to 2-2.

The Trailblazers (2-2) opened the day with a 4-0 win over UT-Permian Basin, before dropping a 5-2 decision to Dallas Baptist.

MATCH ONE – Dixie State 4, UT-Permian Basin 0

Dixie State claimed the doubles point in the opening match of the day as Isabel Heras and Alexandra Hildreth battled for a 6-2 win at No. 1 singles, while Megan Lynch and Emma Templeman rolled to a 6-1 triumph at No. 2.

The Trailblazers lead was extended to 2-0 by default as singles play began, as UTPB did not enter a player at the No. 6 position. Lynch cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles, while Emma Templeman ended the match with a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 4.

MATCH TWO – Dallas Baptist 5, Dixie State 2

Stats for the Dallas Baptist/Dixie State match were not immediately made available.

Dixie State will wrap up its fall season in two weeks with a trip to Grand Junction, Colorado. The Trailblazers will take on Colorado Mesa on September 27, followed by a matchup against Colorado College on September 28.
