BOX SCORE (PDF)

The Dixie State women's tennis team closed its six-match northern California trip on Friday with a 9-0 loss to Sonoma State in Rohnert Park, California.

Sonoma State swept through the doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead heading to singles play. Kyra Harames (Spokane, Wash./Central Valley HS) and Frances Hina Goldsmith (Honolulu, Hawaii/Myron B. Thompson Academy) came closest to a point in doubles play, dropping an 8-4 decision at No. 1 doubles.

Hina Goldsmith saw her match at No. 4 singles go to a tiebreaker for the second straight match. Goldsmith battled, but fell, 7-6 (7-4), 6-1. Harames looked to force a third set at No. 2 singles, but fell 6-1, 7-5.

Dixie State will now prepare for the Pacific West Conference Championships, beginning on Wednesday, April 19, in Surprise, Arizona.
