Trailblazer Tennis rolls to 9-0 victory at Mills College Monday

The Dixie State women's tennis team rolled to a 9-0 victory at Division III Mills College on Monday in Oakland, California, improving to 2-1 on the current seven-match trip.

The Trailblazers (8-4) took control of the match during doubles play, sweeping through the matches to take a 3-0 lead. Kyra Harames (Spokane, Wash./Central Valley HS) and Frances Hina Goldsmith (Honolulu, Hawaii/Myron B. Thompson Academy) cruised to an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles, while Maria Kana Goldsmith (Honolulu, Hawaii/Myron B. Thompson Academy) and Sydney Nichols (Elwood, Utah/Bear River HS) earned a win at No. 2 doubles by the same count. Laura Hartle (Salt Lake City, Utah/East HS) and Kaylee Milligan (Silver City, N.M./Silver HS) completed the doubles sweep with an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles.

Dixie State took the momentum into singles play, as Harames (No. 1 singles) and Kana Goldsmith (No. 2 singles) each rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win. Hartle earned a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles, Hina Goldsmith took a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles, and Milligan notched a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 5 singles. Nichols completed the Trailblazers sweep of the Cyclones with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.

DSU now heads to San Rafael, California, for a Tuesday afternoon matchup at Dominican. Tuesday's match is scheduled for a 1 p.m. Pacific Time (2 p.m. MT) start.
