Women’s Tennis closes trip with loss at Cal State LA

Lacey Hancock defeats West Region #12 Singles Player

The Dixie State women's tennis team closed its three-match trip with an 8-1 loss to Cal State LA on Sunday in Los Angeles, California.

The Trailblazers (5-2) earned just one win on the day, but it was a big one. Lacey Hancock (St. George, Utah/Pine View HS) defeated Nozomi Matsuoka, the No. 12-ranked West Region singles player, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Kyra Harames (Spokane, Wash./Central Valley HS) battled at No. 3 singles, but fell 6-3, 7-5.

CSULA swept the doubles matches, earning 8-3 victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, and an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles.

Dixie State returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 25, hosting Colorado Mesa at the Bell Tennis Courts.
