Dixie State closed out home portion of its 2015-16 schedule on a sour note as the Storm dropped a dual match vs. in-state foe Southern Utah, 8-1, Wednesday afternoon at the Bell Tennis Courts. With the loss the Storm fell to 3-7 overall in dual match play on the year.

Dixie State picked up its lone point of the match at No. 1 doubles, where sophomore Karolin Kukaras (Heidelberg, Germany/Internationale Gesamtschule Heidelberg) and freshman Lacey Hancock (St. George, Utah/Pine View HS) teamed up for an 8-6 win over the SUU tandem of Veronika Rogova and Laura Martin. The Thunderbirds picked up the other two doubles matches and won five of the six singles matches in straight sets, while Rogova rallied from a set down to defeat Kukaras at No. 1 singles by a 2-6, 6-3, 10-0 count.

DSU will next make a quick trip down to SoCal for a match at Cal State Los Angeles this Friday, Feb. 26.
