Tennis drops close battle to CSU-Pueblo, 5-4

PHOENIX – Dixie State women's tennis dropped a close match on Saturday against Colorado State Pueblo, 5-4, in Arizona.

"It was a tough close match," DSU head coach Eric Pelton said. "The team had a number of opportunities in the singles and doubles but we could not close them out."

Stormy Dvorak (Laguna Beach, CA/Park City) was perfect on the day winning her singles in straight sets and her doubles. Zenja Draca (Novi Sad, Serbia/Nov Sad (Serbia)) had a chance to seal the victory in her singles but came up one point short in her second set tie-breaker.

Karolin Kukaras (Heidelberg, Germany) continues her strong play in No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-2 win.

Dixie State faces off with Glendale Community College on Sunday outside of Phoenix.
