Red Storm Drops Match to Weber State

ST GEORGE, Utah -- Despite playing some of their best tennis of the year, the Dixie State women's team dropped a match to Division I Weber State 6-3 on Saturday afternoon at the Bell Tennis Courts.

"It was a great day on the courts, said head coach Eric Pelton. "The girls played some of their best tennis of the year, they were fighting for every point and never gave up and it was a great team effort all the way around!"

Sierra Smith (Denton, TX/John H Guyer) and Zenja Draca (Novi Sad, Serbia/Nov Sad (Serbia)) at No. 3 doubles fought back from down 1-6 to win the match 8-6.

# Laura Hartle (/)# played strong at No. 4 singles, winning the first set in a tie breaker then closing out the second 7-6, 6-3.

Draca continued to play well after comeback in doubles, finished off the day going unbeaten by playing some great tennis at No. 5 singles winning 6-3 6-1.

Joy Naigeon (Biot, France /Lycee Simone Veil) also played a stellar match wining the first set in a tie breaker but then coming up just short losing the match in a close third set tie breaker! 7-6 4-6 (3-10).

The Red Storm leave Sunday for a seven day road trip to the San Francisco Bay Area.
