Draca Sensational but Storm Drop Match to Dominican 6-3

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. -- Despite an outstanding performance from Zenja Draca (Novi Sad, Serbia/Nov Sad (Serbia)), the Dixie State University women's tennis team dropped a match to Dominican (CA) University today in San Rafael.

Coach Eric Pelton said, "They gave it everything they had today on the courts, but were just not able to pull off the upset."

Draca won her doubles match 9-8 with Sierra Smith (Denton, TX/John H Guyer) and her singles match 6-4, 2-6, 10-5. Laura Hartle (/) picked up the other point for DSU at No. 4 singles by winning 6-3, 7-5.

Stormy Dvorak (Laguna Beach, CA/Park City) came up just short in a great match losing in a third set tie breaker, 4-6, 7-5, 10-1.

Dixie State still had an outside change of still getting into the upcoming Pacific West Conference tournament with a win today, but the loss has them on the outside looking in.

DSU continues its road trip with at match at Academy of Art tomorrow at 12 p.m.
