WTEN: Storm win back to back matches with win over Chaminade

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Dixie State Univeristy women's tennis team made it two matches in a row with a 6-3 neutral site win over Pacific West Conference foe Chaminade in Glendale, Ariz.

The Red Storm (4-2) dominated the No. 4,5,6 singles matches for the second day in a row and picked up an additional at No. 3. to lead them to the win over the Silverswords.

"It was a another strong day on the courts for the girls," said head coach Eric Pelton. "The team really played smart and executed the shots they needed to win 2 of the Doubles!"

No. 1 singles player Joy Naigeon (Biot, France /Lycee Simone Veil) lost a hard fought match to Melanie Schumilas, forcing the CUH No. 1 to a 12-10 third set tie breaker and could not get over the hump.

In doubles play, the Silverswords prevailed at No. 1 doubles, but the depth of the Storm helped them pick up wins at No. 2 and No.3 doubles.

Dixie State continues play in Arizona tomorrow with a 5 p.m. match with CSU Stanislaus.
