Red Storm Blanked by #15 Cal State L.A.



PHOENIX- The Dixie State Red Storm dropped a match today 9-0 to No. 15 Cal State Los Angeles in a tournament in Phoenix, AZ.

The Red Storm drop to 0-2 on the season.

Head coach Eric Pelton said, "It was a good match the girls really faced some strong competition and played well."

At No. 3 doubles Lindsey Jones (Fruitland, ID/Fruitland)/ Anna Caronquist played a great match. They were in it and had some opportunities to take the lead but came up short and ended up losing the match 8-4.

At No. 1 singles, Joy Naigeon (Biot, France /Lycee Simone Veil) played the #23 ranked player in the nation and came out swinging. She competed very well, forcing Lau into deep game point.  They had a lot of close games but she was not able to convert the break and game point opportunities.

Jones also played a great match at No. 5 singles with Tiffany Leung. She lost 6-2 and 6-3

The Red Storm continue their weekend tournament with a match tomorrow with No. 2 ranked BYU Hawaii in Phoenix at 3 pm.
