WTEN: Tennis Blanked Against Academy of Art

SAINT GEORGE -- The Dixie State College dropped a home match today to Academy of Art 9-0.

Coach Eric Pelton said, "It was a very tough match today. The girls played well and worked hard just came up short."

The Red Storm had the best chance to pick up points in the #3 doubles match. Kristen Nichols (Elwood, UT/Bear River) and Sierra Smith (Denton, TX/John H Guyer) dropped the match 8-6 to the Urban Knights Courtney DeWalt and Paola Correa.

In the singles matches, AAU dominated winning all six matches in straight sets.

Coach Pelton continued, "Academy is a strong team and they were able to convert on the opportunities they had and we didn't."

DSC drops to 5-6 on the season and continue play at home tomorrow at 10:30 am against Colorado Mesa University.
