SAN RAFAEL, CA – The #50 Dixie State College women's tennis team earned their fourth straight victory squeaking by Dominican University 5-4 at Forest Meadows Tennis Courts.
The Red Storm (6-5) saw losses at the top of both singles and doubles, but bounced back nicely with dominating wins in later matches.
Ashley Lafeen (Murray. UT/Murray HS) took the number three singles match in straight sets, 6-2 and 6-1. Number five
Courtney Kezerian (Orem, UT/Orem) and number six
Lauren Tarver (Wrightwood. CA/Serrano) each easily won their contests. Kezerian won 6-1, 6-1 while Tarver breezed through a pair of 6-0 sets.
In doubles, the number two duo of Lafeen and Ashley Davis cruised 8-2. Tarver and
Adrienne Davis (Salt Lake City, UT/Olympus) blanked their competition in number three doubles.
The win over Dominican set the table for a potential sweep of today's action as the Red Storm will face Academy of Art this evening. DSC defeated the Urban Knights 6-3 in St. George on February 26.
