GRAND JUNCTION, CO-The Dixie State College women's tennis team split a pair of matches at our inviational at Mesa State College today. The Red Storm lost a 5-4 match to Colorado Christian University and then defeated Colorado State University-Pueblo 5-4.
In the victory over CSU-Pueblo, #2 singles Karlie Hancock (6-1,6-3), #3 singles
Lauren Tarver (Wrightwood. CA/Serrano) (6-1,6-3), #4 singles
Sarah Hughes (Bountiful, UT/Woods Cross HS) (6-1, 6-0) all picked up victories. In doubles play, #1 doubles Hancock and Hughes won 8-4 and in #3 doubles Ashleigh Hammond and Tarver won 8-1.
In the loss to Colorado Christian, #2 singles
Allison Long (West Jordan, UT/West Jordan) (7-6 (1), 6-1) and #4 singles
Lauren Tarver (Wrightwood. CA/Serrano) (6-2, 6-1) won their individual matches. In doubles Long and
Kelley Terry (Las Vegas, NV/Chaparral HS) won 8-6 and Hammond and Tarver won 8-4. The Red Storm dropped hearbearker matches in #5 and #6 singles.

These matches wrapped up the fall season for the Red Storm. They will be back in action on Febuary when they travel to Glendale, AZ for a Invititational at Grand Canyon University.
