Trailblazers Sign Portland State Transfer Guard Alex Dupre

Dupre is the Trailblazers' sixth addition to the 2026-27 roster.

(St. George, Utah - May 20, 2026) - The Trailblazer men's basketball program and head coach Jon Judkins has announced the signing of Portland State transfer guard Alex Dupre to a financial aid agreement on Wednesday.

A native of Los Angeles, Dupre played in 30 of Portland State's 31 games in 2025-26 making 26 starts for the Big Sky regular season champion Vikings.

One of nine Vikings to average double figures in minutes played, Dupre averaged 15.4 minutes per game and ranked eighth on the team averaging 3.2 points per game.

Finishing sixth on the team grabbing 49 rebounds, Dupre connected on 83.9 percent from the line on the season sinking 26-of-31 free throws and shot 29.3 percent (27-92) from the field. He added a 29.4 percent clip from three-point range hitting 15-of-51 from beyond the arc.

Dupre scored a season-high 10 points and played a season-best 36 minutes in an overtime win at Weber State on New Year's Day sinking a pair of three-pointers to go along with four free throws and added four rebounds & two assists.

In a five-point win over the Trailblazers at Burns Arena in November, Dupre tallied nine points, including a pair of triples, in 29 minutes of action and added three rebounds and a steal.

With the Vikings earning the top seed at the Big Sky Tournament, Dupre helped lead the Vikings to a 85-78 win over Idaho State registering nine points & grabbed four rebounds on March 8.

In a narrow two-point loss at Tulane in December, Dupre notched a season-best eight rebounds and went on to dish out multiple assists in seven games.

A 2024 graduate of Birmingham High School in Los Angeles, Dupre averaged 16.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game as a senior for the Patriots in 2023-24 in 22 games.

Helping the Patriots come back from a 21-point deficit, Dupre scored 45 points to to defeat Grant High School, 83-70 in overtime in the City Section & Southern Section Open Division playoffs.

Dupre went on to earn the Co-MVP of the West Valley League & was named to the All City Open Division team before redshirting the 2024-25 season at Portland State.
