Jon Judkins has announced the signing of Valparaiso transfer guard Mark Brown Jr. to a financial aid agreement on Monday.
A native of South Phoenix, Ariz., Brown Jr. arrives at Utah Tech after a season at Valparaiso in 2025-26 playing in 22 contests starting each of the first six games of the season for the Beacons.
Brown Jr., who stands 6'0 & 190 pounds, scored a season-high 15 points, including going 3-for-5 from three-point range, in a 84-55 win over Western Michigan on Nov. 29.
Scoring at least a point in 17 contests, Brown Jr. averaged 14.0 minutes per game and added 1.3 assists & 1.1 rebounds per game.
Brown Jr. arrived at Valparaiso after a pair of seasons at Snow College where he totaled 669 points, 220 rebounds and 215 assists in 62 games while making 55 starts for the Badgers.
As a sophomore in 2024-25, Brown Jr. averaged 13.3 points and 4.3 assists per contest earning all-conference honors.
He had a 20-point, 12-assist performance in a 91-68 victory over Southern Idaho in the Region 18 title game win as he was named the Region 18 Tournament Most Valuable Player for a Badgers team that went 32-2 overall and 15-0 in conference play.
In his two-year career at Snow College, Brown Jr. tallied 33 double-figure scoring outputs including a career-high 34 points in a four-point win at Odessa College on Nov. 22, 2024.
He had five or more assists on 16 occasions in his two years at Snow including a pair of double-doubles in 2024-25 adding a 17-point, 10-assist performance in a 42-point win over Utah State Eastern on Jan. 23.
Brown Jr. prepped at Bella Vista Prep graduating in 2023 playing in 30 games as a senior averaging 8.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists as the Bears went 21-10.
