Utah Tech came away with a 12th-place finish at the Western Michigan-hosted Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational, which wrapped up play on Sunday afternoon at Rio Verde Quail Run Golf Club in Rio Verde, Ariz.

After combining to shoot an opening 23-over par 311 on Friday, the Trailblazers tied for Saturday's second-lowest second round in the 19-team field with a 4-over 292 to vault eight spots up the team leaderboard to t-seventh through 36 holes.

Unfortunately Utah Tech was not able to carry that momentum into Sunday's final loop as the team carded another 311 to finish with a three-round total of plus-50 914.

Second round leader Bradley (300-291-294-885; +21) stayed atop the leaderboard on Sunday to claim the team title by four shots over runner-up Xavier (292-293-304-889; +25), while Missouri State (308-292-293-893; +29) and Bowling Green (303-292-298-893; +29) tied for third.

Senior Jane Olson and junior Mia Cesarek paced the Trailblazer effort as the duo tied seven others for 30th-place at plus-12 228. Following an opening 7-over 79, Olson, who led Utah Tech with five total birdies, bounced back with a season-low tying 1-over 73 with three birdies in round two, then finished with a 4-over 76 on Sunday.

Meanwhile Cesarek fired a team low 3-over 75 on Friday, followed by rounds of 76 and 79 with 41 total pars over her 54 holes.

Sophomore Gabrielle Roznicki helped lead the Blazers' Saturday surge with a collegiate career-low round of 1-under 71, which featured her first collegiate eagle and one birdie. Roznicki's 71 was bookended by a 79 and an 8-over 80, which wound up tying her with two others for 41st at plus-14 230.

Sophomore Maria Purroy Galan also carded an eagle during her second round and rolled in four total birdies over the three days, as she recorded rounds of 78-77-78 to finish t-56th at plus-17 233.

Junior Samantha Phelan tied four others for 72nd at plus-21 237 after posting rounds of 85-74-78.

Utah Tech will stay close to home for its next event as the Trailblazers will tee it up at the Southern Utah/Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invite, which will be played at Sunbrook Golf Course in St. George on March 6-8.
