Utah Tech stands in the middle of the pack in t-fifth place after the first round of play at the 2026 Western Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championships on Monday at The Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch Hills Course in McKinney, Texas.

The Trailblazers are tied with California Baptist after firing an opening 23-over par 311, 13 strokes off the pace set by both Abilene Christian and Utah Valley, both of which opened with matching scores of 10-over 298. 
 
UT Arlington is six shots back in third at plus-16 304, while Tarleton State is in fourth place at plus-18 306, and Southern Utah rounds out the field in seventh at plus-24 312. 

Senior Jane Olson led the Trailblazer effort on day one as she turned in a steady 2-over par 74, which tied her with two others for fifth place on player leaderboard. Olson penciled in 16 pars along with two bogeys, and she will head into round two just five shots back of ACU's Maddi Kamas, who carded the only under par round in the field with a 3-under 69.
 
Juniors Mia Cesarek and Samantha Phelan are both tied for 18^th-overall after posting dual 6-over par 78s. Cesarek managed to roll in one birdie on her first loop, while Phelan carded 12 pars on her scorecard.
 
Sophomore Maria Purroy Galan stands in a four-way tie for 29^th at plus-9 81 after a round that featured a team-high two birdies, while redshirt freshman Gabrielle Roznicki  also recorded a pair of birdies as part of an 11-over 83 to finish day one in solo 34^th place. 

Utah Tech continues tournament play in round two on Tuesday morning beginning at 8 a.m. (MT).
