(Pocatello, Idaho - Feb. 14, 2026) – Utah Tech track & field had a school record setting day and were frequent visitors to the podium at the Mountain State Games in Pocatello, Idaho hosted by Idaho State. The Trailblazers broke 5 school records and racked up 17 top-ten finishes over the two day meet.
On day 1 of the Mountain State Games, the Trailblazers competed in the pentathlon for the first time in school history, highlighted by senior
Megan Jenkins tallying 3,236 points, which was good for 5th best in the meet. Junior
Reyes Hernandez also logged a 10th place finish in UT's pentathlon debut.
In the 5000 meter, junior
Averie Perriton set a women's indoor record by recording a 17:27.63 time, good for 2nd best at the Mountain State Games. Junior
Erin McKinnon also logged a 9th place finish recording a time of 18:17.65.
At the women's distance medley relay

Whitney Christiansen,
Makayla Pitcher teamed up to record another school record. The relay squad recorded a time of 12:03.98 which was good enough for a podium finish in 2nd place.

Savannah Rydalch,
Makayla Boulton finished in 6th place with a time of 12:43.45, which ranks top-10 all time in program history.
Competing for the first time in program history, the men's distance medley relay team of Aiden Hardy, Payton Wilkins, Collin Manning, and Ryan Hatch recorded a time of 10:31.29, which was good enough for a 4th place finish.
On day 2 of the Mountain State Games, the Trailblazers ran the men's indoor mile for the first time, highlighted by Aiden Hardy's 4:25.86 time.
UT had a 1st place finish this weekend coming in the women's 4x400 relay as

Hannah Bingham,
Scarlett Brock, and
Whitney Christiansen recorded a time of 3:53.86. That time is also good enough for top-8 all time in UT history.
The Trailblazers also earned a 3rd place finish this weekend when freshman
Hannah Bingham recorded a 56.50 in the 400 meter race.
