Utah Tech senior Jenna Anderson fired a final round 3-under 69 to earn medalist honors and helped lead Utah Tech to a runner-up finish at the Utah Fall Intercollegiate, hosted by Weber State, on Tuesday afternoon at Wolf Creek Golf Club in Eden.

Anderson (74-69) battled the windy conditions on Tuesday to pencil in five birdies on her way to being the only player in the 33-player field to finish in red numbers at minus-1 213, two shots clear of Weber State's Jade Gruher (75-70-215; +1).

The senior became just the fourth different player in program history to win a collegiate golf tournament, and is the first tourney winner in Utah Tech's brief NCAA Division I era. In addition, Anderson is the first Trailblazer to win medalist honors in a tournament since former standout Katie Ford collected two event victories during the 2017-18 spring season.

Utah Tech stood in second place behind host and eventual team champion Weber State (293-298-591; +15) after posting an opening 19-over 307 on Monday. The Blazers followed that up with a final round 14-over 302 on Tuesday to close at plus-33 609, three strokes ahead of third place Utah Valley (312-300-612; +36), and 28 shots clear of fourth place Southern Utah (312-325-637; +61).

Junior Samantha Phelan (78-76) wound up in solo 10th place at plus-10 154, followed by senior Jane Olson (78-78-156; +12) in 13th, and junior Mia Cesarek (78-79-157; +13) closed out Utah Tech's team scoring in t-14th. Sophomore Maria Purroy Galan (77-DQ) opened with a 5-over 77 on Monday, but unfortunately had her Tuesday scorecard disqualified.

In addition, a pair of Trailblazer freshmen made their collegiate debuts playing as individuals at the event. Coryn Tardif (76-82) tied for 16th place at plus-14 158, and Gabrielle Roznicki (80-80) tied for 20th at plus-16 160.

Utah Tech will enjoy a month off before traveling to Arkansas to play at the Arkansas State Red Wolves Classic. The two-day, 54-hole event will be played on Oct. 13-14, at Sage Meadows Country Club in Jonesboro.
