Utah Tech University women's basketball player Emily Isaacson Chamberlain collected one more award for her career trophy case on Thursday as she was named a recipient of the 2024-25 Western Athletic Conference Stan Bates Award.

Named in honor of former WAC Commissioner Stan Bates, the annual award is presented to the WAC's top male and female scholar-athletes and recognizes athletic, academic and community accomplishments.

Chamberlain, who is the second Trailblazer athlete to be presented with the conference prestigious award, along with UT Arlington men's track and field student-athlete Brady Shadrick, also collected a $10,000 endowed postgraduate scholarship as part of the overall award presentation.

The redshirt-senior forward from Perry, Utah, was a four-time Academic All-WAC and two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.98 GPA and her Bachelor's Degree in Recreation and Sports Management from Utah Tech in 2024, and completed her work on her Master's Degree in Sports Management and Athletic Administration this past May with a 3.96 GPA.

On the court, Chamberlain finished the 2024-25 season ranked in the top-15 in the WAC in scoring (10th – 12.7 ppg), rebounding (14th – 5.5 rpg), 3FGM (2nd – 81; t-31st NCAA D-I), 3FGM/g (3rd – 2.61 3FGM/g; 25thNCAA D-I), and 3FG percentage (3rd - .409; 26th NCAA D-I).

She scored in double figures in 20 of her 31 starts with four 20-plus point outings, highlighted by a career high 27 points against CBU (2/15/25).

Chamberlain, who was a 2021-22 second team all-WAC pick, closed her storied career as the program's all-time leader in 3-point field goals made (259) and 3FG percentage (.3997), and finished as Utah Tech's third all-time leading scorer (1,199 pts) and fourth all-time leading rebounder (599).

She is also one of only three players in program history with at least 1,195 points and 595 rebounds, and wound up third all-time in steals (133) and field goals made (409), and fourth in career blocks (66).

In addition, Chamberlain is ranked in the program's career top-10 in games played (7th - 104) and started (2nd - 104), field goals made (3rd - 409) and attempted (4th - 927), 3FG attempted (2nd - 648), steals (3rd - 133) and blocks (4th - 66). She also owns Utah Tech's single-season record for 3-pointers made (88 in 2021-22).

"Emily has been a steady anchor of our program throughout her career at Utah Tech," Utah Tech head women's basketball coach JD Gustin said. "Her leadership, resilience, and dedication have elevated everyone around her—she's the kind of teammate every coach dreams of."

"Off the court, Emily's commitment to academic excellence and genuine passion for serving others have made her a pillar in our community and a model representative of what it means to be a Trailblazer," Gustin added. "Emily represents everything the Stan Bates Award stands for."

Outside of basketball, Chamberlain was a member of the Utah Tech SAAC from 2022-25, serving as the department's president from 2022-24, and was a Utah Tech representative with the WAC SAAC group in 2024-25. Chamberlain was a scholarship recipient for the NCAA Career in Sports Forum in June of 2024, visiting the NCAA headquarters to take part in interactive workshops and seminars focused on enhancing leadership skills and career readiness in the sports industry.

Though her playing career now completed, Chamberlain has begun the next phase of her basketball life in mentoring the next generation of Trailblazers as an assistant coach on Gustin's staff at Utah Tech.

"Emily is a surefire, first-ballot, Trailblazer Hall of Famer," said Ken Beazer, Utah Tech Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. "She owns the school record for 3-pointers made and ranks in the top-five of in scoring and rebounding. In addition, she received the Black Desert "Strive to B" award and "Trailblazer of the Year" award. She exemplifies excellence in everything she does and is a solid leader for all student-athletes."

Former Utah Tech men's basketball player Hunter Schofield was the first Trailblazer student-athlete to be presented the WAC's highest academic award following the conclusion of the 2021-22 academic year.
