(Las Vegas - April 5, 2025) - The Utah Tech track & field team notched a program record in the 800 meters by
Whitney Christiansen and added 10 top eight finishes on Saturday at the UNLV Elite Meet at Myron Patridge Stadium.
The Trailblazers got action with the 4x100 meter relay team of
Adaorah Okafor,
Rashawnna Gibson, Christiansen and
Jesse Fowler finishing fifth in a time of 47.19.
The highlight of the afternoon came in the 800 meters as Christiansen won the event in a program record time of 2:09.94 and teammate senior
Lexi Larsen posted a fourth-place finish in a time of 2:12.75
Sophomore
Averie Perriton finished in the top eight in a pair of races coming in eighth in the 1500 meters (4:47.99) and sixth in the 5000 meters (18:40.54).
Freshman
Kambrie Wilkinson was the runner-up in the 5000 meters clocking a time of 18:15.03.
Junior
Ashlyn Parish followed coming in fifth in the 100 meter hurdles posting a time of 13.71
Finally, four Trailblazer men finished in the top eight in a pair of events with Ryan Hatch coming in seventh in the 1500 meters and the trio of Dennis Sparks, Collin Manning and Dawson Leffler were all top eight in the 5000 meters.
