Utah Tech track & field heads north for rival Southern Utah's SUU Coliseum Championships on Thursday in Cedar City. The championships will be the Trailblazers' final regular-season meet before the WAC Outdoor Championships in two weeks.

Whitney Christiansen (400 Meters, 54.79) all broke individual records. The Trailblazers also set a new 4x100-meter relay record with a time of 46.29. Gibson, Christiansen, junior

Christiansen set the Trailblazers' sixth program record of the season (800 meters, 2:09.94) at the UNLV Rebel ELITE on April 5 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Senior
Kylie Bishop smashed the UT high jump record with a mark of 1.69 meters (5-6.5) to win the event at the CSU Fullerton-hosted Fullerton Friday Night Lights on April 11 in Fullerton, California.
Sophomore
Averie Perriton finished fifth with a time of 11:03.82 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase for a new program record at the Leopard Invitational on April 17.
On April 18, Larsen broke her 1,500 meters record by over two seconds (4:30.12) at the Bryan Clay Invitational.

LAST TIME OUT
Utah Tech track & field wrapped up another successful week with two program records and nine top-eight finishes across two concurrent meets in Southern California on April 17 and 18.Â
On Thursday night at the La Verne-hosted Leopard Invitational, sophomore
Averie Perriton took fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:03.82. Perriton is once again at the apex of the Trailblazer record books, besting her former program record of 11:07.09 set last season.
In the 10,000 meters, freshman
Isabela Coffman and sophomore
Charly Murie finished seventh and eighth at 37:45.88 and 37:49.71, respectively.
Sophomore
Addie Payne placed third in her section of the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:51.38 to log UT's first top-eight mark of Friday.
In their section of the 800 meters, junior
Savannah Eatough finished third at 2:17.37, while senior
Sadie Edwards followed in eighth at 2:19.77.
Sophomore Aiden Hardy of the men's cross country team took second with a time of 3:57.76 in his section of the 1,500 meters.
On Friday at the Azusa Pacific-hosted Bryan Clay Invitational, senior
Kylie Bishop and junior
Lainee Leavitt placed sixth and seventh with tantamount marks of 1.58 meters (5-2.25) in the high jump, respectively.
Senior
Lexi Larsen can tout another program record after posting a time of 4:30.12 in the 1,500 meters on Friday night. Larsen effaced her previous record of 4:32.24 set last month.
2024 SEASON RECAP
UT competed in six meets last outdoor season, setting nine program records. At the 2024 WAC Outdoor Championships, six Trailblazers earned all-conference honors. Junior
Megan Jenkins was named First Team All-WAC for finishing third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 58.85.
HEAD COACH DERRICK ATKINS
Head coach
Derrick Atkins is in his fifth season at the helm of Utah Tech track & field in 2025.Â
With his guidance, Utah Tech has set school records in 19 indoor events and 18 outdoor events, with 17 of those records achieved during the 2024 seasons. The Trailblazer set nine program records during the 2025 indoor season.
UT has also excelled academically under Atkins, with 10 Trailblazers earning academic all-WAC honors during the 2024 indoor season and 25 Trailblazers earning the same honor during the 2024 outdoor season.
UP NEXT
Utah Tech will open the postseason at the WAC Outdoor Championships on Thursday-Saturday, May 15-17, at Maverick Stadium in Arlington, Texas. UT Arlington is serving as the host institution.
