Utah Tech broke one school and posted several top-10 program marks during the opening night of the 2025 Trailblazer Invitational on Wednesday at the HPC Pool.

The one school record that fell on night one came in the 50-yard butterfly time trial, where
Mary Sims Cross touched the wall in a time of 25.55.

Utah Tech opened the evening session with a 10th-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:43.50, as the team of Cross,
Marta Valkovska,
Madeleine McGaughy and
Gabby Henry combining for the eighth-fastest relay event time in program history.

In an earlier heat,
Makaela Perea opened with a 50-yard backstroke time of 26.11, which was the ninth-fastest mark in that event in Utah Tech history.

The Blazers closed night one with a ninth-place showing in the 800-free relay in 7:31.59.
Cera Mallory got Utah Tech going with an opening 1:50.33 (#10 all-time at Utah Tech), while teammates
Natalia Zmierczak,
Coco Riding and
Reagan Patterson took it the rest of the way to clock the fourth-fastest 800 relay time in school history.Â

Day two of the Trailblazer Invitational will begin on Thursday morning at 10 a.m., with several preliminary heat events, followed by the evening session at 5 p.m.Â
