WGOLF - Trailblazers Place Entire Team On The 2023-24 WGCA Academic All-American Scholar Honors List

All seven members of the Utah Tech women's golf team were named to the 2023-24 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-America Scholars Team on Monday. 

Senior Grace Williams (3.58 GPA), sophomores Jenna Anderson (3.95 GPA), Brooke Gelinas (3.79 GPA), Corinne Lillywhite (3.66 GPA) and Jane Olson (3.88 GPA), and freshmen Mia Cesarek (3.88 GPA) and Samantha Phelen (3.96 GPA) all earned their way onto the annual prestigious list.  

The Trailblazers also combined to post the highest grade point average (3.79) in the entire Utah Tech athletics department this past academic year. 
 
Along with the WGCA season honors, all seven student-athletes collected Academic All-Western Athletic Conference recognition. In addition, Williams, Anderson, Gelinas and Olson were voted onto the 2023-24 College Sports Communicators Division I Academic All-District® At-Large Team.

In all, 1,497 women's collegiate golfers from 412 programs across the country were recognized for their academic achievements by the WGCA. To be eligible to become a WGCA All-American Scholar, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.50 cumulative GPA and participate in at least 50 percent of her team's events.

The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA), formerly known as the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA), began in 1983 as an organization to promote participation in women's collegiate golf. The vision of the WGCA since its inception has been to encourage the playing of intercollegiate golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition.
The WGCA instills within coaches of women's golf a deeper sense of responsibility for the promotion, development, maintenance and conduct of competitive golf for women.
Today, the WGCA represents the finest coaches in women's golf with a membership of over 750 coaches of Division I, II & III, NAIA and NJCAA collegiate programs.
