(Irvine, Calif. - March 29, 2024) - The Trailblazer track and field team set three program records and notched a pair of first-place finishes on Friday evening at the Vince O'Boyle Classic hosted at Anteater Stadium.
Leading the way for the Blazers was junior
Lexi Larsen who won the 1500 meters in a time of 4:39.52 taking over two seconds off her previous record time of 4:42.37 set last season at this meet.
Another first-place finish came from freshman
Whitney Christiansen in the 400 meters with a time of 56.93.
Rounding out the record times was sophomore
Ashlyn Parish in the 100 meter hurdles who took 0.03 off of her record time set last week at the Utah Tech Invitational to clock a runner-up time of 13.89.
Other top finishes on the day came from sophomore
Megan Jenkins in the 400 meter hurdles (2nd) and freshman
Averie Perriton in the 5000 meters (3rd).
The Trailblazers return to the track next weekend at the UNLV ELITE meet starting on Friday.
