(St. George, Utah - March 23, 2024) - The Trailblazers wrapped up the Utah Tech Invitational on Saturday afternoon setting three new program records on the day at Greater Zion Stadium.
Leading the way for the Blazers were a pair of first-place finishes with
Rashawnna Gibson in the 100 meters blazing a time of 11.80 and the 4x100 meter relay team of
Ashlyn Parish, Gibson,
Kooper Dennison and
Jesse Fowler in 46.89.
Parish set a new program record mark in the 100 meter hurdles as the sophomore came in third clocking a time of 13.92.
The second and third program records fell on the men's side by freshman Ryan Newton in the 1500 meters (3:52.56) and 3000 meters (8:50.15).
Other top finishes came in the triple jump (
Mackenzie Bradach, 3rd), 800 meters (
Lexi Larsen, 4th) and 400 meters (
Whitney Christiansen, 4th).
The meet wrapped up with three top-five finishes in the 4x400 meter relay highlighted by a third-place finish inÂ
Kelly Denninghoff,
Camilla Hamilton, Bradach and Christiansen.
The Trailblazers return to the track next weekend at the Vince O'Boyle Track and Field Classic hosted by UC Irvine on Friday and Saturday.
