(St. George, Utah - March 22, 2024) - The Trailblazers opened the outdoor season on Friday with the opening day of the Utah Tech Invitational setting a pair of program records at Greater Zion Stadium.
Leading the way was freshman
Kaydance Sherwood in the 200 meters setting a new program record in the event with a time of 24.81 to finish third.
A second program record was set in the 400 meter hurdles by sophomore
Megan Jenkins clocking a time of 1:01.74 to finish fifth.
Brittany Kuhn and
Madelynne Crawford finished seventh and eighth, respectively.
The opening day wrapped up with the 5000 meters with three Trailblazers finishing in the top eight led by
Lexi Larsen taking fifth followed by
Mariah Skinner in sixth and
Charly Murie in eighth.
The final day of the Utah Tech Invitational gets underway on Saturday with the field events starting at 10 a.m. and the running events at 11 a.m.
