(Albuquerque, N.M. – Feb. 20, 2024) - The Utah Tech track and field team closed out the WAC Indoor Championships on Tuesday hosted at the Albuquerque Convention Center with four scoring performances.
Leading the way for the Trailblazers was sophomore
Ashlyn Parish in the 60 meter hurdles who finished fourth in the finals with a time of 8.64.
Junior
Addi Wyatt finished fifth in the 800 meters clocking a time of 2:15.45 while the 4x400 meter relay team ofÂ
Megan Jenkins,
Whitney Christiansen,
Kelly Denninghoff and Wyatt knocked off more than three seconds off the previous program record in the 4x400 meter relay to take seventh in the event.
Rounding out the scoring on Tuesday, junior
Lexi Larsen finished eighth in the mile registering a time of 5:03.12 after setting the program record in the event on Monday in the prelims.
The Trailblazers finished ninth as a team scoring 17 points. Grand Canyon won the women's team title with 131 points followed by UT Arlington, Utah Valley, UTRGV and Southern Utah.Â
