UTAH TECH 2022 SEASON QUICK STATS:
• Utah Tech has 12 goals on the season from 90 shots with 44 shots on frame.
• Utah Tech averages 11.3 shots per game and has a total of 13 assists.
• The Trailblazers have 32 saves on the season and have allowed just four goals
• Utah Tech has a 6-2-0 overall record and a 2-0 record in WAC action and is tied at No. 1 in the WAC standings with Southern Utah.
SIX STRAIGHT:
Utah Tech is currently on a six game win streak. After falling to North Dakota State on August 29, the Traiblazers haven't lost a game. First, UT picked up a 1-0 win over St. Thomas before defeating South Dakota with a big 5-0 win. Then, UT defeated Idaho State 1-0 and in-state rival Weber State 1-0. The Trailblazers started WAC play with two victories, first over Stephen F. Austin with a 2-0 score and then UTRGV 1-0. Utah Tech has not lost a game in the month of September yet.
Kayla Thompson has been in the net for each of the six straight wins earning six clean sheets.
In total Utah Tech has 572 minutes without allowing a goal.
NYLAND WAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Karli Nyland finished last weekend off with two scored goals both against Stephen F. Austin. She placed her first one in the net in the 13th minute off a set piece. Just two minutes later, Utah Tech drew another corner where Nyland executed another shot for UT's second goal. In total over the weekend, Nyland ended with two goals, three shots with all three shots on frame.
She currently leads the Trailblazers in most goals scored with four on the season and total shots with 17 and shots on goal with 10.
THOMPSON'S LOCKDOWN:

Kayla Thompson has broke into the top 10 in several career categories at Utah Tech. She sits at No. 7 in total minutes with 2,010. She is at No. 3 in total saves with 133, she's just seven away from claiming the top spot. She also sits at No. 3 in shutouts with eight total in her time at UT.
Thompson curently leads the WAC with six shutouts and is No. 3 in the WAC in total saves with her 32 so far on the season.
Thompson currently has the school record for six consecutive shutouts and the most consecutive shutout minutes in school history with 572 so far.
COACHING STAFF: Molly Rouse (Minnesota, 2012) is in her third season as Utah Tech head coach. Rouse now has a 10-25-3 record as a head coach. Rouse brought back with her volunteer assistant coach Lindsey Dar

POSTSEASON TOURNAMENT ELIGIBILITY: As of Summer 2022 the WAC Board of Directors voted as of the 2022-23 season to allow newcomers to the WAC, Tarleton State and Utah Tech, to compete for all conference tournaments. Utah Tech University is in it's third year of a four year transitionary period into Division I and the Western Athletic Conference.
FIRST GOAL: Utah Tech senior
Lauren Buxton notched the team's first goal of the year in the season opener against Colorado State on August 18. Buxtons goal was her third of her career.
MOST RECENT GOAL: Against UTRGV in the 85th minute
Emily Garbett fired shot from 25 yards off that sunk in the the back of the net for a Trailblazers goal.It was a game winning goal that gave Utah Tech its sixth consecutive win.
ONE . . TWO. . . THREE . . . FOUR. . . FIVE! : Against South Dakota, Utah Tech notched five goals in one game. This was the first time since 2019 that the Trailblazers scored five or more goals in a single game. It's also the most goals scored in a game this season.
2022 ROSTER BREAKDOWN: The Trailblazers return 15 players from the 2021 team this season, welcome in 14 freshmen and six transfers. Among the returners are the teams 2021 leader in saves, senior goalkeeper

KNOW YOUR FOE TARLETON STATE:
The Texans are 4-2-2 overall on the season and 0-0-1 in WAC play. TSU is coming off a 1-1 tie to Abilene Crhistian. Tarleton State has 19 total goals on the season and has recorded 98 shots with 52 on frame. The Texans have one assist and 14 saves on the season so far.
Tarleton State has had three different Texans score three goals a piece. Adriana Alonso-Gomez, leads with 13 shots and nine on frame. Mikayla Kendall leads TSU in the net with 12 saves and 630 total minutes.
TARLETON STATE vs. UTAH TECH:
This is the first meeting between the two teams.
KNOW YOUR FOE ABILENE CHRISTIAN:
The Wildcats are 4-2-2 overall on the seasn and 0-0-1 in WAC play. ACU is coming off a 1-1 tie to Tarleton State. ACU has 16 total goals on the season and has recorded 105 shots with 53 on frame. ACU has 13 assists and 37 saves on the season so far.
Chayse Thorn leads ACU with four goals from 15 shots and 15 on frame. Lilly Ross leads ACU in the net with 22 saves. She also has 244 recorded minutes and has allowed six goals.

This is the first match up between the two teams.
