Utah Tech women's golf opened the 2022-23 season with a 17
th-place showing at the Utah Valley Hobble Creek Classic, which was played on Monday and Tuesday at the Hobble Creek Golf Course.
Junior
Grace Williams (79-80-77) paced the Trailblazer effort as she finished in a five-way tie for 56
th at plus-23 236, while freshman
Jane Olson (84-76-81) tied for 78
th at plus-28 241 in her first collegiate tournament.
In fact, there were four Trailblazers who were making their team debuts at the UVU event, including freshmen
Brooke Gelinas (79-80-83-242; +29) and
Corinne Lillywhite (92-79-80-251; +38), who finished t-81
st and t-100
th, respectively. Meanwhile, sophomore
Aubree Johnson (87-88-77), playing as an individual in her first event as a Blazer, tied for 102
ndat plus-39 252.
Senior
Abby Livingston, who had to withdraw from Monday morning's first round, came back to card UT's low round of the tournament with a second round even-par 72 before shooting a 10-over 82 on Tuesday.
Utah Tech returns to northern Utah next Monday and Tuesday to play at the Weber State Kelsey Chugg Invitational. The 54-hole tournament will take place at Wolf Creek Resort Golf Course in Eden.
