2022 WAC Women's Swimming Championship Central

Dixie State combined to break three school records in the first two races of the 2022 Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday night at the CRWC Natatorium in Houston, Texas.

The Trailblazers opened the meet with a fifth place finish in the 200-yard medley in a school record time of 1:43.06 Freshman
Ally Boynton set the pace with a school-record 50-yard backstroke in the opening leg, while sophomore
Skyler Lyon, junior Kyrie Sutherland and freshman
Mandy Farnum carried the Blazers home the rest of the way.

DSU followed that up with a sixth place showing in 800 free relay in a school record time of 7:31.96, which included a 1:51.47 (#2 all-time at DSU) opening 200-yd time turned in by sophomore
Akalia Bostock. Fellow sophomore
Gabbie Adams, and freshmen
Emily Schexnayder and
Paulina Sansores closed out the race in record-breaking fashion.

Day two of the WAC Championships will get underway at 10:30 a.m. (CT), with the preliminary heats in the 500 freestyle. The final races for the second day will follow at 6 p.m. (CT).
