Utah Tech picked up one event win and broke seven more school records on the final day of competition at the 2022 Trailblazer Invitational on Saturday at the UT HPC Pool.

In all, Utah Tech swimmers broke 17 school records over the three-day meet and recorded several top-10 individual marks overall.Â

The Blazers placed fourth overall at the meet with 416 points, just 28 points behind fellow WAC member Northern Colorado. UC San Diego won the 11-team meet with 748 points, while UC Santa Barbara scored 681 points to claim runner-up honors.Â

Freshman
Lily Magda started off the scoring portion of the night for Utah Tech with a strong third-place showing in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a school record time of 17:01.17.

In the 200 back, three Trailblazers combined to record six of the top-10 all-time marks in that event, headlined by junior
Pia Murray, who clocked an initial school record time with a preliminary 1:58.00. Murray then bettered that record time by just over two second to claim the event win with a 1:55.99.

Meanwhile, sophomore
Ally Boynton touched the wall in second place overall with a time of 1:56.56, which was the second-fastest time in program history, that after she swam the fourth-fastest time with a 1:58.33 in her prelim heat. Junior
Eleonore Rembert placed fifth-overall in the "A" final at 1:59.80 (#5 all-time at UT), while she clocked a 2:01.21 (#7 all-time at UT) in her qualifying heat.

Freshman
Ikea Losey also notched a "daily double" in the 100 free, first with a school record time of 50.87 in her prelim heat, which she followed up with a 50.61 time in the final to place third overall. In addition, sophomore
Reese Hazan posted a school record time in her 200 fly heat with a 2:03.05, then recorded the second-fastest mark at 2:03.41 to place sixth in the "A" final.

The Trailblazers then closed the night with a seventh-place finish in the 400 free relay with a school record time of 3:26.27, with senior
Chloe Partsch setting the pace with a 51.20 (#3 all-time at UT) opening leg.Â
Several members of the Trailblazer team will next head to Greensboro, N.C., to compete at the 2022 USA Swimming Toyota U.S. Open. The four-day meet will be held at the Greensboro Aquatics Center.
