Utah Tech closed out its fifth NCAA Division I season with three more school-record breaking performances on the final day of the 2025 Western Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday at the CRWC Natatorium in Houston, Texas.

Utah Tech finished in seventh place overall with 248 points, 57 points ahead of eighth place Seattle U (191 pts). Northern Arizona won its 12th-straight, and the final WAC title overall, with 649.5 points, followed by New Mexico State in second (534) and Grand Canyon State in third (529).

The Trailblazers closed the four-day meet with one medal, five school records, and several top-10 all-time marks.

The first school record to fall on Saturday was in the mile freestyle, where Cera Mallory shattered her own school record by over three seconds with a sixth-place time of 16:56.64.

For Mallory, who was Utah Tech's top point scorer (32 pts), and the 23rd-best on the women's side overall, it was her second school record on the weekend overall. During Thursday's second day of competition, the sophomore clocked a 500 free preliminary time of 4:55.15, which best the school record by six-tenths of one second.

In the 200-yard backstroke, Mary Sims Cross, who won silver on Friday night in the 100 back final, placed eighth-overall with a time of 2:02.51.

Meanwhile in the 100 free final heats, Natalia Zmierczak posted the ninth-fastest time in program history with a 51.32, which was good for fifth in the "B" final. One race earlier in the "C" final, Sorina Rom touched the wall first with a season personal-best time of 51.37.

Utah Tech's final school record of the meet came in the 200 breaststroke, where it was broken not once, but twice in as many races. In the "B" final heat, Yara Olsen placed second in 2:16.09, which bested the previous record by one-100th of one second.

Then in the "A" final, teammate Alyssa Gordon bettered Olsen's mark by nearly three-tenths of one second with a 2:15.80, which placed her fifth-overall.

Utah Tech closed the weekend with a seventh-place finish in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:24.36, which was the team's fastest time this season and the second-fastest time in program history.

Mallory got the relay off to a great start by covering the first 100 yards in 51.08, which was the sixth-fastest 100 time in Trailblazer history. Senior Mandy Farnum, who was swimming in her final collegiate race, along with Rom and Zmierczak, took it the rest of the way to wrap up the Trailblazers' WAC tenure.

This past Feb. 13, Utah Tech Athletics announced that the Trailblazer women's swimming program would join the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF).

The announcement came on the heels of the WAC discontinuing its sponsorship of men's and women's swimming and diving following the 2025 conference championships.

Along with Utah Tech, six other WAC programs will make the move to the MPSF next season, including California Baptist, Idaho, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado and UTRGV.
