Dixie State kicked off its 2021-22 campaign with a 17
th-place finish at the New Mexico-hosted William H. Tucker Intercollegiate played on Friday and Saturday at the UNM Championship Course.
After opening with a 13-over par 301, the Trailblazers followed with a second round 304 (+16) and a final round 307 (+19) on Saturday en route to a plus-48 912.
BYU (285-270-286-841; -23) ran away with the team title, besting the host Lobos (282-284-294-880; -4) by 19 strokes, while Louisville (289-297-280-866; +2) wound up in third overall.
Junior
Davis Heslington (74-77-73) was the top Trailblazer on the weekend as used a final round 1-over 73 to vault up 18 spots up the leaderboard into an eight-way tie for 43
rd at plus-8 224. Heslington rolled in two birdies and recorded 13 pars on Saturday as he fired the DSU's low round of the tournament.

Camron Saunders (75-77-76) finished tied with five others in 67
th-place at plus-12 228, followed by senior
Brock Nielson (74-77-80) in t-80
th at plus-15 231, sophomore
Aman Uddin (78-76-79) in t-85

Spencer Wallace (84-74-79) in 95
th at plus-21 237.
Dixie State will enjoy a two-plus week break from competition before heading to Corvalis for the Oregon State Invitational, which will be played on Oct. 11-12.
