Utah Tech redshirt senior guard
Kaylee Borden was named Jersey Mike's A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference women's basketball Newcomer of the Week on Monday.

Borden, who is a now a two-time WAC newcomer of the week honoree (11/24/25), averaged 23.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals in Utah Tech's two-game home sweep last week. She shot a combined 45.7 percent (16-of-37) from the floor, 46.7 percent (7-of-15) from the perimeter, and went 8-of-10 at the foul line (.800).

Borden led all scorers with a career high 29 points, including a pair of game winning free throws with 1.5 seconds left, in Utah Tech's 60-58 come-from-behind victory over UT Arlington last Wednesday night. She hit on 10-of-17 of her field goal attempts with four 3-pointers, and collected four rebounds and two steals.Â

She followed that up with 18 points, 13 of which came in the second half, in last Saturday's 76-55 rout of Tarleton State. Borden knocked down three more treys and stuffed the stat sheet with career highs of six assists and three steals, and pulled down four rebounds.Â

Borden begins the penultimate week of the 2025-26 regular season as the WAC's second-leading scorer (15.6 ppg), and is currently ranked in the conference's top-20 in free throw percentage (5
th - .756), field goal percentage (6
th - .408), made 3-pointers (9
th – 1.60 3fgm/game), assists (10
th - 2.56 apg), and rebounding (18
th – 4.44 rpg).

Utah Tech will embark on its final trip to "The Lone Star State" as a member of the WAC for a road date at Abilene Christian this Thursday night.
